    UI Services

UI stands for User Interace. Its a very important element of design for a website or app. UI Designers are basically graphic designers tasked with making the interace aesthetically pleasing. The job of a UI designer is to create an interface which is easy to use and pleasurable. UI design includes buttons users click on, the text they read, the images, sliders, text entry fields, and all the rest of the items the user interacts with. This includes screen layout, transitions, interface animations and every single micro-interaction.

UI is actually the connecting link between UX and system. UI provides the graphical interface through which a user interacts with the system. The graphic team at GBIM consists of thinkers, designers and dreamers which bring in a unique combination of right brain and left brain thinking to UI design. They bring in vibrancy and freshness to the design along with a deep concern for the usability of each of the design elements. Our UI design has been commended and appreciated by our clients for their natural flow and ability to create long term engagement and recall.

What are the best practices of UI Design that are followed at GBIM?

We believe that the connected world knows no geographies. A website made in India has to compete with the best websites/apps from around the world. Hence we follow internationally accepted standards and practices while conceptualising and executing UI design for our clients. Some of the principles that we keep in mind are. Simple interface – The best interfaces are almost invisible to the user and hence we avoid unnecessary elements and use concise language on labels and in messaging.

Consistency and commonality – We use common UI elements across the app/site as they make users feel more comfortable and they are able to get things done more quickly.

Purposeful page layout – We consider spatial relationships while placing items on the page as it helps draw attention to the most important pieces of information and can aid scanning and readability.

Color and texture – Depending on the requirement of the page we direct attention toward or away from items using color, light, contrast, and texture.

Typography – Our team plays with different sizes, fonts, and text arrangement to help increase scanability, legibility and readability.

Is a good UI Design good enough or I have to invest in UX also?

UI design and UX design involve very different skill sets, but they are integral to each other’s success. In fact, we can also say that they are two sides of the same coin when it comes to ensuring a wonderful looking and working website or app. A beautiful and aesthetically pleasing UI design can’t save an UX which is clunky and confusing to navigate. Similarly, a brilliant, perfectly-appropriate UX design can become absolutely ineffective due to a messy UI design that makes using the app an unpleasant experience. UI design comes after UX is designed but still has an equal contribution to a good user experience. Both UI and UX designs need to be flawlessly executed to create an excellent user interface/experience.

What to expect from an UI agency

What is the best UI design?

The best UI design is also called as the invisible one. Users don’t even realise they are interacting with a UI design. It is simple and avoids unnecessary elements. Using consistency across the app.

Is UI design applicable only to visual elements?

With advances in technology and heavy reliance on personal assistants in phones. Companies have now started designing Voice User Interfaces too. Which is basically ensuring that a customer can seamlessly interact with your brand using voice commands.

How long will it take for GBIM to provide me a UI design?

Once your wireframes from the UX are ready, it generally takes between 3 to 8 weeks depending on the complexity and the depth of the project. We offer you a draft design and then incorporate your inputs in the design to arrive at the final finished template.
